Lash Adhesive Part Two: Once an allergic response is elicited, the intensity of symptoms varies!

Jun 29th 2022

Allergic response intensity are based on a few factors:

  • The person’s level of sensitivity to the allergen
  • The concentration of allergen absorbed by the skin
  • Duration of exposure to the allergen

What's the solution? I want to continue wearing lash extensions!

To date, there hasn’t been a solution other than to remove the lash extensions or try a different lash artist/adhesive in hopes that your client doesn't have another reaction.

Most adhesives contain up to (if not more than) 90 weight percent cyanoacrylate unless the lash client gets an allergy test done, it is hard to determine what is causing the reaction. Most likely, the allergy is linked to cyanoacrylate/black carbon ingredient and the fumes the adhesive emits . Cyanoacrylate is the base ingredient that is found in all lash adhesive.

We now have a few options. The PremierLash Ultra Bonder should be used on clients with sensitivities or slight irritations to adhesives, as it eliminates the source of the fumes, and therefore, the irritation. The Ultra Bonder also instantly cures lash adhesive by drying from the inside. The adhesive shrinks as it dry's, adding strength to the bond. temperature.

We also suggest using Premier Clarity and Premier Purity. Both lash adhesives are non-carbon, no fume and quick drying.

Note: Using PremierLash non-carbon adhesive does not guarantee the prevention of an allergic reaction.
